On Holistic Community
Beatrice Lutterbeck, RN, MA
Let us keep hearts, minds and ears open to those things that cause us
to reflect on the human condition, whether it be in San Francisco, Baghdad, New
York, or Mars. If gay marriages are legalized, how might that change a our
or a client's sense of self as a "wife" or as a
"husband." How does this change the "image" of wife
and husband. How does the war in Baghdad, terrorism, and 9/11 change our
sense of "safe place” in America? If the water found on Mars leads
to discovery of previous life there, does that change our image of
"Martians" from little green men to something else? When you get
right down to it, anything that changes our perception of external reality will
change our inner world visions, too.

Lutterbeck is a body-mind
therapist trained in several holistic modalities. She is certified in
Interactive Guided Imagerysm, and is a Reiki Master and teacher. She
is a massage therapist who trained at the School for Intuitive Massage and
Healing. She has had additional training in Therapeutic Touch, Polarity Therapy
and Pranic Healing. She is a Bodywork Therapist trained by the American
Bodywork and Massage Professionals Association.
Bea was raised in southern California and earned her Master's Degree in
French at UCLA in 1971. While studying in France, she became interested in the
wide variety of natural, holistic approaches to health and healing commonly
practiced in Europe. She returned to school in 1978 to become a
registered nurse. Her belief that
Western medicine often failed patients was reinforced during the years she
worked in medical and radiation oncology. Intuitively, she understood that
curing a disease does not always mean the patient is healed. You may reach Bea by E-mail reikirn@earthlink.net
