Nine of Wands / Integrity
Integrity is the Hermit’s spirit of unbending self-determination. Like the Hermit, be true to your self. This means knowing and valuing yourself. Have the backbone to walk your own path and the courage to stand alone. Defend your spirit (the inner light) without self-compromise. Be honest. Integrity is the path of the spiritual warrior. Have the vision, aspiration, and strength to climb to the top of your mountain. Follow the high road of the higher self.
You are integral, for your spirit is whole. You possess everything within yourself to fulfill your highest destiny. Protect the temple of your mind, heart, and body that preserves your spirit light. Keep fit mentally, emotionally, and physically, and your spirit light will naturally guide you.
Traditionally, the Nine of Wands symbolizes the archetype of strength and determination at the multiple levels of the self (emotional, mental, body, spiritual). The battle is almost done and there is strength in reserve to get you over the finish line. Nine is a strong number and suggests that victory through courage and endurance is just around the corner.
When you draw this card, it means that you have unlimited strength to call upon to manifest those insights, visions and perceptions that are important.
All the world’s a stage.
And all the men and women,
merely players;
They have their exits
and their entrances,
And one man in his time
plays many parts.
Shakespeare in As You Like It.
