Cover Card

The Star in the Voyager deck symbolizes the law of luminosity. Everyone radiates the Star’s light. Some think that when you recognize your star light, you will succeed in becoming the Star on all levels of your being.

Like the Star of Bethlehem, you become a guiding light in the darkness, a guide---the illumination of wisdom for others.

The Star here is symbolized by the oriental goddess, Kuan Yin who represents compassionate commitment to helping others so they may find their Star light. As the Aquarius water-bearer and the water Rune, Laguz, she brings life giving waters to others for their regeneration and healing.

In helping others with your clarity and generosity, you help yourself achieve your destiny---to reach your Star.

The I Ching Hexagram for the star is # 22 Pi/Grace, which is the kind of beauty associated with the Roman version of the Star, that of Venus:

Tranquil beauty---clarity within, quiet without;
This is the tranquility of pure contemplation.
In this aspect the world is beautiful. (I Ching)

In the Kabbalah, the Star is represented by Tzaddi, Which means “fishhook.” The Star’s hook or attraction is an inner and outer expression of beauty, which is irresistible. The Star’s hook of beauty attracts others and so the Star is capable of great power to influence others. A Star uses his or her spiritual beauty to serve others during a time of searching for their own truths.

On other levels, in numerology, the Star’s number is seventeen, which is the combination of ten and seven. Both ten and seven symbolically represent attainment. The Star has achieved the heights and is rewarded with fame and acclaim. Once having achieved stardom, the Star personality shines its light with an infinite radiance. This is symbolized by the infinity sign of the sideways number eight, which is what the Star’s one and seven add up to.

Traditionally, this card represents the archetypal spiritual principle of “As above so below.” When you draw this card, you may be involved in sparking inspirational ideas that offer optimism and hope; accomplishing things that are of service to your family, your community and your world; seeing the light of wisdom; living in the light of knowledge.

When your capacity for sharing wisdom is stunted, so will be your fortune in receiving.

Observe calmly the natural unfolding of events. Rapid growth and advancement are unnatural. Hold to the inner vision of gradual flowering of potential. Avoid haste. Do not jump ahead blindly. Enjoy the moment of waiting to be!

Editor's Notes

Toni,

Since reading the November issue in one sitting last Sunday morning (less than a week ago), I have had the occasion to refer at least 15 people to your website, including the heads of Ethic committees of two hospitals, a Human Resources Director, two nuns, an MD, a nurse legislator, a group of student nurses, and a mother and daughter who recently lost a loved one. The articles were excellent. I also plan to write a little blurb about it in the newsletter for those of us in the Holistic MSN program at Tennessee State University.

Thank you for what you're doing, and making it so accessible.

Marian Long, RN member of the American Holistic Nurses Association

Toni,
You've done it again! The "card for the day" is exactly on point for my life. And I want to congratulate you on your website. Its ease of traversing is top notch . . . no frustrations . . . no hair pulling desires. All is serene on your web.
Love,
Lee Strassman, New York
